SREE VAHINI has a well-established fully information centre with huge collection of 25008 volumes and 2039 titles, Covering all major fields of science and engineering technology with international standard resources. The ultra-modern central library is located in Main Block covers an area of 339.622 Sq.m., the library and information centre has separate reading and reference section to service the Undergraduate , Post graduate poly technical students, and staff members.

The library has The DELNET access providing the Staff and Students for the benefit resource sharing in the field of Science and technology.

The Library Subscribed E –resources are available in DELNET.

In addition to this, departments have their own departmental library. The Library has fully computerized automated system for the transaction of the books and other reading materials.

We are going to provide the NPTEL (National Program Technology Enhanced Learning) through online web and web video courses in engineering and humanities stream in the near future.

Functions

1) Build a collection of books in other documents in line with the needs of the users
2) Process and organize the collection systematically in the stock room, ensuring their easy location and replacement by subject approach
3) Provide assistance and services such as lending and reference services to put the collection to the best use.

6) Providing a Central Location for Classroom Resources.
7) Providing Opportunities for Independent Reading and Curricular Extensions.
8) Serving as a Place for Students to Talk About and Interact With Books
9) Providing author, title, and subject access to library collections, these catalogs remain essential to the proper utilization of any library.
10) Prepare a wide variety of reference and bibliographic tools designed to provide library patrons with guidance in the use of specific elements of the collections of a library, such as periodical holdings, book reviews, or biographies of prominent individuals.

SREE VAHINI Digital Library is with a focused collection of digital objects that can include text, visual material, audio material, video material, stored as electronic media formats (as opposed to print, microform, or other media), along with means for organizing, storing, and retrieving the files and media contained in the library collection. OPAC

All the workstations installed in the library are connected to a server computer for better accessing of information resources in electronic format. The Library resource materials have been computerized by NewGenLib software. The NewGenLib is an integrated Library Management Software used for library automation. The software consists the modules given below.

The staff and students of the Institute are issued a single bar-coded membership cum library identity card. The users can use the same identity card for borrowing books.
Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)
The computerised bibliographic details of the books, CDs, Back Volumes of Journals are available in the library through the OPAC (On-line Public Access Catalogue) service. The two OPAC terminals are placed at the entrance of the library. Further the users can access the OPAC on intranet through the web based OPAC module by pasting the links given below.
